Technical Skills & Academic Interests

Programming is incredibly fun for me. I’ve always been a fan of puzzles; of solving “mysteries” or questions of the sort, and somehow, programming is able to pique my problem-solving mind every time. I am skilled in a few programming languages, including:

Java: My first programming language, and the one I’m definitely most proficient in. I’ve experimented with Java in Android Studio, JavaFX and created applications, like an Android app to track user health statistics.

Python: My go-to application for using public APIs and making fun little projects, like a role-checker for League of Legends using the Riot API to see a player’s past match history and determine how often they play their position.

C#: I worked in my first corporate environment using C#, and the .NET6 framework to create and test an old Toronto Police Services (TPS) application that tracked employee hours, and calculated uniform reimbursement for non-uniformed officers.

SQL: I also used much SQL during my time with TPS, planning and executing a full database migration from IBM DB2 to Microsoft SQL Server using SQL Server Migration Tool, as well as maintaining/upgrading active databases and executing scripts to perform daily backups.

Non-Academic Interests

I love to try lots of new things! I’m a big fan of outdoor activities, travelling and eating new foods. From these categories, I love to fish, I love visiting California, and my current favourite exotic(ish) food is the Krispy Kreme burgers that are served at the Canadian National Exhibition.

I am also a big fan of sports, as I am an athlete myself! Growing up, I played AAA and Prep level ice hockey, and I got to play with some superstars in the NHL when I was young, such as Wyatt Johnston, Luke Hughes, Shane Wright, and more!

Like many other people, I am also an avid gamer. My current favourite games are Valorant, Teamfight Tactics and Pokemon, but I’ve always been passionate about all different types of games, and would love to one day work on one or create one myself.
